Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April – 15 December ) was an Anglo-Americanatheist, writer and debater. He wrote for various magazines including The Nation, Free Inquiry, Slate, favour others. He was a champion of the philosophical movement humanitarianism.

Hitchens was educated at Balliol College, Oxford. After graduation put in the bank , he became a periodical writer. In , he phony to Washington, D.C. In , he learned from his grandparent that his mother was Judaic, but had kept her cathedral a secret. Hitchens remained forceful atheist and did not take in any religious faith.
